During 2001, I tried my hand at some sports photography - namely motor racing and tennis. A day at Thruxton taking pictures of the British Touring Car Rally was very enjoyable and made me realise panning shots were much easier for cars than for birds.

I went to Wimbledon on the first day of the championship and had an excellent day. I managed to get to the front of the standing area for Court number 2, where Serena Williams played first and then Tim Henman. My position was excellent as I could isolate the players against the grass. Later on we got tickets for Center Court to see Greg Rusedski struggle through.
